Lets face it. These two things are not mutually exclusive
are they? We all know that without an inventory system, you could
lose thousands of dollars in lost and stolen goods. But the cost
of conducting and maintaining an accurate inventory involves significant
staff time and lost productivity. And a poor job of maintaining
an inventory could contribute to theft and/or misplacement of valuable
assets.
Once an item has been procured through the Prorizon process, it
has an asset tag that is affixed to it at check-in and automatically
tracked through custody transfer with the aid of wireless hand held
scanner technology. Legacy items, acquired before you implemented
the Prorizon procurement system, can be scanned and an asset tag
attached as part of a physical inventory that would place them in
the Prorizon asset management system. Once this has been done, the
rest becomes comparatively easy.
Items that are in-use or in-inventory/ available-for-use are tracked
through all custody transfer or break/ fix incidents from their
origin in the system through their life with the company. Periodic
physical inventory can be easily and quickly accomplished by using
a handheld wireless scanner/ PDA to scan the asset tags and check
off on a click down screen to record the assets condition and location
on the PDA.
Using this quick, easy and relatively tamper proof technology, Prorizon
can maintain an item on inventory right up until its disposal and/or
salvage. Categories or classification of items on inventory include:

as well. When we bring an item into inventory, we can enter the
warranty information and maintain it at the same time. For legacy
items on inventory before you began using us, we can get the information
from the manufacturers warranty tables. We can also enter information
for maintenance contracts.
The duration of the warranty or maintenance agreements can be tracked
by manufacturers part number. We track and can auto prompt the appropriate
personnel when warranties are due to expire and notify you of extensions
that may be available. We can track maintenance records and repair
histories.
